Irish Lights has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Manager. This role will primarily be based in our Dun Laoghaire Office with periodic travel to some of the most stunning locations around the coast of Ireland. 

THE ROLE

As Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Manager (HSEQ) you will report to the Director of Coastal Operations. The role will be instrumental in setting and maintaining the standards for health, safety, environmental sustainability, and quality standards within Irish Lights. The successful candidate will develop and maintain an integrated management system (IMS) including drafting related policy, strategies and procedures to meet the latest regulations and best practice. In addition to the health and safety duties, the HSEQ Manager will have additional duties such as responsibility for quality and environmental assurance including auditing and continuous improvements, providing advice in relation to environmental compliance, ensuring climate action obligations are met, representing Irish Lights at Environmental stakeholder events and chairing the annual management review of the IMS. 

THE REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate will hold a NFQ Level 8 or equivalent in a related discipline, e.g. health and safety or environment. They will need to have detailed knowledge of legislation and the ability to interpret and translate such information into business policy and procedures. They must have a working knowledge and experience of HSEQ management systems and experience of managing training and development. 

They will require a practical, determined and principled approach to work, with a strong track record of team and organisational leadership along with excellent communication, presentation and people skills. They will also need influencing and negotiating skills. Strong ICT skills are also required.
