Notices to Mariners
Dundalk Pile - Temporary Discontinuation of Sector Light
06 - 2003
Issue Date: 21 March 2003
Aid: Dundalk Pile
Recent hydrographic surveys indicate that the depths in the approach channel to Dundalk have been subject to change and are not currently as charted. In response to this, the auxiliary green sector light at Dundalk Pile (A5920) which previously marked the approach to the channel, was temporarily discontinued on 13th January 2003.
The Commissioners of Irish Lights hereby give notice that the auxiliary green sector light will remain discontinued for the foreseeable future and until the channel configuration is fully determined. A further Notice to Mariners will be issued as deemed appropriate in the future.
In the interim, mariners are advised to use caution when navigating in this vicinity, to refer to the note regarding depths on Chart BA1431 and to consult the Dundalk Harbour for advice on channel approach.
